Feb. 28th

Can't believe tomorrow is the first day of March already. That's pretty much it.

Here's what I made for dinner tonight. I was going for bruschetta, but it's more of a veggie & pesto pizza on seasoned flatbread. Man it was good. Only next time we're going to substitute the summer squash with fresh spinach.

Feb. 26th

What a beautiful day today. Really cold and really windy, but gorgeous. Thus, we had a beautiful evening here on the west side of Indy.

Feb. 25th

I made these last night. I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics to rummage through their fabric remnants (PS- this is an excellent way, in my humble opinion, to get the biggest bang for your buck especially when trying something new). I took a color swatch from our furniture to find something that I could cover our two 18x18 black pillows with. I found two rolls of fabric that complemented each other and looked fantastic with the brown of our couch, loveseat, and Kyle's recliner. Check out the color close-up; love, love, love it! Oh, and they're removable to wash.

I have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself here. :)

Feb. 24th

I had the closing shift last night and Tuesdays are bathroom cleaning days (yuck.). When I went to check out the damage in the women's room, I saw this bright green :: post-it :: on the mirror. I liked it so much that I took. Then, while I was walking the book floor, looking for strays and straightening shelves, I saw another bright green post-it on a diet book. I took it, too. They made me smile and [somehow] reminded me of :: Kelley's Polaroid Project ::.

:) Yesterday was one of those days that these were nice to see.

Simplistic for today. It's a clock in a light sepia tone.

Feb. 20th

Well, we finally made it to our first Frassati event with Katrina Zeno as guest speaker. Went to mass, had a fantastic Cajun meal from Yats, met some really nice people (none of which live nearby), then learned about Sex God's Way (a simpler, entertaining understanding of J.P. II's Theology of the Body). Here, we see Katrina with Barbie and Ken; aka Adam and Eve soon after hearing, "So when Adam woke up, what did he see? Barbie!"

Sorry for the gritty nature of the photo; it was a low-lit area and my pocket cam.

Feb. 13th

Here's a snow plateau of sorts. There's a decent amount of it around here, maybe at least half of a foot on the back patio.

Feb. 12th

I discovered these icicles on my way out to the mailbox this morning on one of the 3 over-sized bushes right outside our front door. The weight of the snow has kind of split them both in half; I'm glad, I hate those things. They completely hide what little of a front-of-the-house we have. I'd LOVE to recycle them this spring/summer and plant a bed of flowers. You should see it - the whole side of our garage leading up to the porch then across our only south-facing window is all evergreen-bush crap. Getting permission to do that (along with 1 or 2 other things we'd like to do to improve our house) I guarantee will be nearly impossible. I've been waiting for a storm-door for over 6 months! The worst part is is that they have one but seem to refuse to, at the very least, drop it off for us to install.

Hah, well, sorry about that. I just know Kyle and I have the ability and motivation to essentially add value to this house and make it our home.

Feb. 10th

I did a bit of baking yesterday before going to work, then came home and whipped up the rest. It's a chocolate sformato with amaretto whip cream.

post script- do you like the small, medium, or large photo preview the best? I can't decide.

I made something usable with my sewing machine! 2 photos: 1 of my "work station" and 1 of my usable item being used. - I used the pocket cam today -

Feb. 6th

Got my photo in for today. Although, on my way to work this morning, with at least a foot of snow on the ground.. and roads, the frozen trees were begging to be photographed a thousand times instead of leaving to go to work. Alas, within 6 hours most of the trees were brown again and the neighbor built a nice Colts helmet in their front yard, complete with blue details.

Feb. 5th

The technical 36th day of this so-called project. My new semester of school started: it's proving to be at least twice as busy as last semester. So, you know, less time to do fun stuff. Not to mention that my free evenings and Saturdays are being swallowed by my job. That = less Kyle time. :(

So here's what I've been able to get since I last posted. Really wish there was more than there is.
